There’s been a lot of narrative around “Justice League” — regarding Zack Snyder‘s departure, the extent of Joss Whedon‘s changes, and more — including Warner Bros. and DC Films‘ decision to scrap the two-part plan. Originally, “Justice League” was going to go toe-to-toe with “Avengers: Infinity War,” with a two-movie, back-to-back bonanza. Those ambitions were scaled down amid the fallout and reshuffling of plans following “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” and “Suicide Squad.” And along the way, it looks like we got a superhero movie that’s going to have a very reasonable running time.
The word around the campfire is that “Justice League” officially runs seven seconds short of two hours. So much for those early rumors of a nearly three-hour runtime. Knock out the credits, and hell, the movie is presumably a damn breeze. Don’t worry, you won’t have to sit through that garish CGI for too long:

So, that’s good news for fans who feared ‘Dawn Of Justice’ style bloat. And there’s even more good news — that sequel could be back on the table. According to J.K. Simmons, his Commissioner Gordon isn’t done after “Justice League,” with at least two movies where he’ll be stepping in to help the heroes.
“…this is the first ‘Justice League’ movie — we hope — of a few. They’re working on scripts for ‘The Batman‘ and for the next ‘Justice League’ movie. It introduces my incarnation of Commissioner Gordon. I don’t have a lot to do. I feel like I just dipped my toe in the water of who Commissioner Gordon will be,” the actor told Total Film.
No word yet on who is writing the script or who will direct. It’s unlikely it’ll be Snyder since he’s moving on, and presumably, Whedon now wants to put his focus on “Batgirl.” Unlike last time, when WB and DC rolled right into “Justice League” after ‘Dawn Of Justice,’ I’d imagine they’ll wait and see what the reaction is before formally announcing anything.
