Kanye West Is A ‘Star Wars’ Prequels Guy & Hates Those “Corporate” Disney Sequels

Kanye West is a lot of things. He’s a multiplatinum-selling rapper. He’s a major clothing designer. Hell, Kanye West is even a Presidential candidate. But what you may not realize is that West is also a huge fan of the “Star Wars” Prequel Trilogy.

Recently, as a guest on the Joe Rogan Experience, West went on a rant about the “Star Wars” franchise. He started by warning he was about to get mad discussing it (as is typical of the “Star Wars” fans), but West had to explain why he’s such a fan of George Lucas’ prequel films, especially when compared to the recent sequels released by Disney after the company bought Lucasfilm.

“They said that George Lucas’ prequels are worse than the corporate-made Disney ‘Star Wars,’” West said. “Like, ‘Revenge of the Sith?’ We saw how Darth Vader was made! Like, I watched that, like, 10 times during COVID. ‘Don’t jump Anakin, I’ve got the high ground!'”

He continued, “I’m saying even the prequels are better than anything that…And I’m sorry Disney ‘Star Wars’ design team… No man, this is George. This is his baby. That thing was set in his heart to show us as children the Hero’s Journey…”

Believe it or not, West actually makes a point that is echoed by many “Star Wars” fans, especially over the past 5 years. No matter what you think of the Prequel Trilogy, at least they were conceived and directed by Lucas, which makes them automatically better than the recent sequels. Or so says the fans. For years after the prequels were released, many OG fans of the ‘Wars’ (as the kids call them) would hate on what Lucas did in ‘The Phantom Menace,’ ‘Attack of the Clones,’ and ‘Revenge of the Sith.’ But over the past decade or so, people have come around, as a generation that grew up with those features holds them in high esteem.

Long story short, Kanye West isn’t here for your garbage ‘Star Wars’ sequels. He’s a prequel guy. And you know what, he probably thinks sand is terrible too!
