Kirsten Dunst + McG + Takashi Murakami = "Akihabara Majokko Princess"

Update: Video removed at the request of Kaikai Kiki New York, LLC.

If you haven’t had your morning cup of coffee yet, you might just want to watch this video instead.

“Akihabara Majokko Princess” is a video collaboration (via The Film Experience) between director McG and artist Takashi Murakami that first screened last fall in London as part of the Tate Modern’s “Pop Life: Art In A Material World.” The piece is essentially a music video that has Kirsten Dunst singing The Vapors’ “Turning Japanese” (a dubious song about masturbation) as she dances around the Akihabara shopping district. Uhhh….we’re not sure what the big statement of the piece is unless it was an excuse for McG to film Dunst dressed as Sailor Moon. In case you’re clicking on this at work, if cartoon boobs will get you in trouble, you might want to wait until you get home.

Anyway, for those of you keeping score at home, this is the second short of the past few weeks to feature Dunst. Last week, “Non Plus One” directed by Gia Coppola and co-starring Jason Schwartzman landed online last week and we found it to be a pretty cute homage to Jean-Luc Godard’s films.
