'Mayor Of Kingstown' Season 2 Teaser: Jeremy Renner Returns In Taylor Sheridan's Paramount+ Drama Series

Honestly, if it wasn’t for Taylor Sheridan, you have to wonder what would happen to Paramount+. Not only is Sheridan responsible for “Yellowstone,” which has its previous seasons on the streaming platform, but he makes a number of Paramount+ exclusive shows that are driving all sorts of business to the service, including the series “Mayor of Kingstown.”

As seen in the teaser for Season 2 of “Mayor of Kingstown,” the new season picks up where the last left off as the series looks at the privatized prison business and what might happen after massive riots create chaos. Jeremy Renner returns to lead the series, which is co-created by the aforementioned Sheridan and Hugh Dillon. Not only is Dillon one of the co-creators but he also has a role in the series alongside Renner and Dianne Wiest, Emma Laird, Aiden Gillen, and Kyle Chandler.

Much like the forthcoming “Tulsa King,” “Mayor of Kingstown” doesn’t have any direct ties to the world of “Yellowstone.” Perhaps, down the line, we can see a major Sheridan-verse crossover between all of the shows, but for now, you can just enjoy Jeremy Renner tackling the prison industry and corruption without worrying about the cowboys over in Montana.

“Mayor of Kingstown” Season 2 is expected to begin on January 15 on Paramount+. You can watch the teaser below.

Here’s the synopsis:

MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Mich., where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.
