Michael Keaton & Thomas Middleditch Join Aaron Sorkin's All-Star Cast For 'The Trial Of The Chicago 7'

Production has apparently already begun on the upcoming legal thriller, “The Trial of the Chicago 7,” from writer-director Aaron Sorkin. And while we already knew that the cast was going to be led by Eddie Redmayne and Sacha Baron Cohen, it appears that Paramount still had a couple of other big names waiting to be revealed.

According to Collider, Thomas Middleditch and Micheal Keaton are the latest names to be added to the cast of “The Trial of the Chicago 7.” The film is said to focus on the true story of the Chicago 7, the group of men that were put on trial and charged with conspiracy and trying to incite a riot for their counterculture protests during the 1968 Democratic National Convention.

Keaton is one of the best actors working today, with recent roles in films like “Dumbo,” “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” and “The Founder.” He was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in the film “Birdman.”

Middleditch is best known for his starring role in the Emmy-winning HBO series “Silicon Valley.” He’s also recently been seen in the horror film “Zombieland: Double Tap” and the action film “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.”

Former “Glee” star Max Adler has also been revealed as joining Keaton and Middleditch in the cast, Previously announced cast members include Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jeremy Strong, William Hurt, Mark Rylance, Frank Langella, Ben Shenkman, Alex Sharp, and Kelvin Harrison Jr. As mentioned, the film is the second feature film from Aaron Sorkin as a director.

Despite being almost a year away, Paramount has already given “The Trial of the Chicago 7” a September 25, 2020 release date.
