‘Mickey And The Bear’ Trailer: Camila Morrone & James Badge Dale Star In This Dark Family Drama

Selflessness is one of the most admirable traits to have, sacrificing personal needs and desires for those of others. It is a virtue second-nature to some, while others just don’t have the time and/or patience to put it into practice. What’s even more noble is that many selfless individuals seek neither reward nor compensation for the services and aid they provide and put their lives on perpetual hold. But what happens when someone takes advantage of this kind of goodwill? “Mickey and the Bear” provides one answer to that question.

The film is the directorial debut of Annabelle Attanasio (“Bull”) and produced by Anja Murmann, Sabine Schenk, Lizzie Shapiro, and Taylor Shung. Model and actress Camila Morrone of 2018’s “Death Wish” co-stars with James Badge Dale (“The Departed” & “World War Z”) and a cast that includes Ben Rosenfield (“Boardwalk Empire”), Calvin Demba (“Kingsman: The Golden Circle”), and Rebecca Henderson (“Russian Doll”).

Here’s the synopsis:

It’s April in Anaconda, Montana, and headstrong teenager Mickey Peck (Camila Morrone) is doing what she can to keep her single, veteran father (James Badge Dale) afloat, navigating his mercurial moods, opioid addiction, and grief over the loss of his wife. Secretly, Mickey fantasizes of going to college on the west coast and finally living life on her own terms. When Hank’s controlling, jealous behavior turns destructive, Mickey must decide between familial obligation and personal fulfillment as she puts everything on the line to claim her own independence.
