'Military Wives' Trailer: Kristin Scott Thomas Stars In New Film From The Director Of 'The Fully Monty'

The life of a military spouse is never easy. Your partner is gone for months on end, sometimes off in a wartorn country or even just half a world away on a tour. And for many families, this puts incredible strain, not just physically, as you try to figure out how to raise kids alone or provide everything that is needed, but also emotionally, as being apart from a loved one, with not much knowledge of what’s happening, can be hell. It’s this aspect of military service that gets highlighted in the new film “Military Wives.”

As seen in the trailer, “Military Wives” is a film that follows a group of women that have to come together as their partners are off in Afghanistan. Everything seems to be going fine, as the women decide to take up singing, but then when communication is lost with their partners, the reality of the situation begins to set in and their friendship becomes even more important.

The film stars Kristin Scott Thomas, Sharon Horgan, and Jason Flemyng. It’s directed by Peter Cattaneo, who is probably best known for his acclaimed work on the film “The Fully Monty.” Other films directed by Cattaneo include “Lucky Break,” “Opal Dream,” and “The Rocker.”

The film premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, where it received favorable reviews. While you may not have been aware that “Military Wives” is hitting theaters this spring, this may be a film that you’re going to want to keep an eye on.

“Military Wives” opens in theaters on March 27. You can watch the trailer below.
