New 'Eternals' TV Spots Show The Humor And Action In Chloé Zhao's Superhero Film

It seems like only yesterday the world fell in love with “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” as that film broke pandemic-era records and quickly has become an unmitigated hit for Marvel Studios. Well, in less than a month, the Marvel Studios superhero factory hopes to spit out another hit with its large ensemble feature, “Eternals.” And the latest TV spots for the film seem to show that the studio is still embracing the action and humor of the previous 25 films, even if Chloé Zhao is behind the camera.

As seen in the new TV spots, the story for “Eternals” is fairly simple. Ancient beings came to Earth thousands of years ago, hid amongst the humans for millennia, and with the rise of a new evil, this group of superpowered heroes is now called upon to protect the planet. And though the early footage from the film seemed to showcase the beautiful shots that Oscar-winning Chloé Zhao has put together for the film, the new TV spots showcase that “Eternals” is still a Marvel Studios film at its heart, and if you were hoping for something altogether different, you probably will be a bit disappointed.

That said, you can’t deny the film has a stacked cast and does actually look pretty, which isn’t a guarantee when you’re dealing with $200 million, CGI-heavy blockbusters. So, as far as that goes, even though Richard Madden says “Eternals assemble” (calling to mind Captain America in “Avengers: Endgame”), the 26th Marvel Studios film does have a couple of interesting tricks up its sleeve.

Perhaps the best cast in any non-‘Avengers’ MCU cast includes Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Harish Patel, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, and Angelina Jolie. Seriously, you know this is a stacked cast when you have Angelina Jolie seemingly only having a supporting role.

“Eternals” is set to arrive exclusively in theaters on November 5. You can watch the new trailers below:
