Orlando Bloom & Djimon Honsou Team For Cape Town Set Thriller 'Zulu'

nullIf the name Jerome Salle isn't familiar, that may be about the to change. The French writer and filmmaker was behind "Anthony Zimmer," which was remade into a movie you remember as "The Tourist." He also helmed the franchise efforts "Largo Winch" and its followup "The Burma Conspiracy." But for this next effort, he's taking a bit more of a serious path in what could be his international breakthrough.

Screen Daily reports that he will take the helm of "Zulu" with Orlando Bloom and Djimon Honsou to star. Adapted from the novel by Caryl Férey, the story follows two Cape Town police officers (Bloom, Honsou) who investigate the murder of a 18 year-old girl, the daughter of a member of the championship winning Springboks rugby team. The investigation reveals ties to the country's apartheid past in the simmering thriller. Sounds pretty good, frankly.

Salle has teamed with regular writing partner Julien Rappeneau to adapt the material which sounds like the best thing either Bloom or Honsou have been involved with for years. Shooting kicks off in July.
