'Pamela, A Love Story' Trailer: New Netflix Doc Gives Pamela Anderson The Space To Tell Her Side Of The Story

Back in early 2022, there was quite a bit of controversy surrounding the acclaimed limited series, “Pam & Tommy.” While many people thought it was a quality series with incredible performances from its leads, there were others who felt that the series was exploitative and traumatizing towards Pamela Anderson, as her controversial past was brought to light again. Well, a year later, Netflix is here with a documentary, “Pamela, a love story,” that aims to set the record straight and give audiences a real peek into the life of the blonde bombshell.

As seen in the trailer for “Pamela, a love story,” the documentary tells the story of Pamela Anderson, a young woman who grew up in Canada and makes it big in Hollywood after she becomes one of the most desirable women on the planet. Then, of course, there are the behind-the-scenes stories of how she was taken advantage of by those around her and her personal/intimate life became fodder for tabloids, as a sex tape with her and Tommy Lee is leaked. The purpose of the film is clearly to give Anderson the space to talk about her side of the story, as many feel that the model/actress has been exploited throughout her career.

The documentary is directed by Ryan White. Netflix subscribers might know the filmmaker based on his work in the acclaimed docuseries, “The Keepers.” He also directed films such as “The Case Against 8” and “Ask Dr. Ruth.”

“Pamela, a love story” debuts on Netflix on January 31. You can watch the trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:

An intimate and humanizing portrait of one of the world’s most famous blonde bombshells, Pamela, a love story follows the trajectory of Pamela Anderson’s life and career from small town girl to international sex symbol, actress, activist and doting mother.
