Peter Sarsgaard Thinks Harvey Dent Theory Is "Very Interesting" & Says 'The Batman' Is "Raw" & "Not Sanitized"

As with many superhero films nowadays, when Warner Bros. confirmed the cast and crew of “The Batman,” fans felt like they knew a lot about the film while simultaneously knowing nothing. Sure, we have a list of the cast and crew, along with roles and whatnot. But we still have no idea what the plot is or if director Matt Reeves is the perfect man for the job, as many feel he might be. All we have to go on are the words of the cast, including actor Peter Sarsgaard, who once again is out and about talking about “The Batman.”

While being interviewed on SiriusXM, Sarsgaard was asked about his upcoming film “The Batman” and what fans might expect. Of course, there’s no way that the actor is going to unload a bunch of secrets more than a year from the film’s release. But he did talk about the feel of the film.

In an earlier interview, Sarsgaard brought up the rock band The Pixies when trying to describe the feeling of “The Batman.” And he once again echoes that sentiment, adding the film shares the “the raw power” of the band.

“That’s what I feel like about this,” Sarsgaard said. “It is not sanitized. It’s got a raw power to it, a raw emotionality.”

But as for specifics about the film, he’s still not going to spill the beans, particularly when it comes to his character, District Attorney Gil Colson. After the recent announcement confirmed Sarsgaard’s role, refuting the claims that he’s actually playing DA Harvey Dent, aka Two-Face, theories began to spring up about how maybe “Gil Colson” is a smokescreen for the actor’s true role in the film.

Without confirming or denying anything, Sarsgaard was confronted with that conspiracy theory during the interview.

“Wow. Cool. Very interesting,” the actor replied.

Hmmm. Okay. That doesn’t really say much of anything, huh?

Whether or not he’s Harvey Dent or a new character created by Reeves, Sarsgaard seems enthusiastic about the upcoming superhero film and that has to have fans pretty excited.

“The Batman” arrives in theaters on June 25, 2021.
