Quentin Tarantino Still Unsure About 'Kill Bill 3' But Suggests If He Did Any Sequel To His Films, It Would Be About The Bride

Even though Quentin Tarantino considers them one big film (which explains why he has 10 directors credits on IMDB, but only counts 9 officially), the ‘Kill Bill’ films mark the only time that the filmmaker has made a direct sequel to his own work. And according to a new interview, if you were to put a gun to his head and force him to make another sequel to his films, he’d probably go back to the story of The Bride.

Speaking on the HappySadConfused podcast, Tarantino brought up the idea of a third ‘Kill Bill’ film, and even went so far as to say that he and star Uma Thurman have discussed the idea.

“You know, Uma and I have talked about it recently to tell you the truth. I’m not sure if I’m going to do it, but I have thought about it a little further,” he explained.

Tarantino added, “If any of my movies would be taken—and me and Uma were literally talking about this last week. If any of my movies would spring from my other movies it would be the third ‘Kill Bill.’”

Asked about the characters he thinks about the most, The Bride is his top pick.

“I like the Vega brothers,” he said when the interviewer brings them up. “But I’ve wondered what’s happened to The Bride. You know, 10 years later, 15 years later. What happens to her daughter? With ‘Bill’ [3, the movie], none of these [things], I’ve worked out scenarios for. But the whole Bill origin story has entranced me— the idea of these three godfathers—Esteban Vihaio, Hattori Hanzō, Pai Mei—and how he had to go through all three of those to become the diabolical Bill.”

Throughout the interview, Tarantino suggests that many of these ideas could venture into other mediums and become books, comics, stories, etc… but also admits they may just wind up being fun pipe dreams to talk about. So, don’t bank on that ‘Kill Bill Vol. 3’ just yet.
