Razzies 2023: Andrew Dominik's 'Blonde' Leads The Pack With 8 Noms, Well Ahead Of 'Morbius'

With the Oscar nominations coming soon enough, you know it’s time for the Razzie Awards to announce the (un)lucky nominees for 2023. Most years, you can pretty much guess which films will get the (dis)honor of being picked on by the Razzies. And though we all expected “Morbius” to get its fair share of noms, we can’t help but be surprised to see “Blonde” as the most nominated film of the year at the Razzies.

That’s right, Andrew Dominik’s arthouse, pseudo-biopic of Marilyn Monroe, “Blonde,” leads all films with eight Razzie nominations, including Worst Picture, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Director. No, the surprise isn’t because “Blonde” is a universally beloved film. Quite the opposite, in fact. However, even the harshest critic of Dominik’s film has to admit it’s well above features such as “Morbius” and Machine Gun Kelly’s film, “Good Mourning.” Can we at least admit that?

Coming in second, with seven nominations, is the aforementioned “Good Mourning.” The comedy film, directed by Colson Baker (aka Machine Gun Kelly), scored a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes and is a more-than-worthy addition to this list.

Perhaps the most shocking news of all is that “Morbius” only received five nominations. Sure, it got noms for Worst Picture, Worst Actor (Jared Leto, obviously), and Worst Director, but there could have been any number of other nominations, right?
