Ridley Scott's New Short Film With 'Blade Runner 2049's Sylvia Hoeks Is A Thriller For Turkish Airlines [Watch]

The Super Bowl featured all sorts of buzz-worthy ads and most of which, were actually pretty terrible, to be honest. There was the lackluster ‘Big Lebowski’-inspired Jeff Bridges ad for beer, there was something going on with ASMR and Zoe Kravitz. But then there’s Ridley Scott. And while his latest “short film” is nothing more than a six-minute ad, it’s still a short film from Ridley Scott featuring a great actress. So, film fans are ultimately the winners.

The short film is titled “The Journey,” and stars “Blade Runner 2049” star Sylvia Hoeks as a woman on the mission to find this mysterious figure. And as you watch the short, it’s quite clear what company is footing the bill for this film. Turkish Airlines is the corporation that hired Scott and Hoeks to bring this short to life, and it’s actually not terrible. You know, as far as extended commercials go.

Sure, it’s not a new ‘Alien’ film or that “Gladiator” sequel that he swears is still being made. However, it’s new content from Ridley Scott and that’s worth something, right?

Film fans might remember that Turkish Airlines has dabbled in the film industry previously. Back in 2015, when the world was anxiously awaiting the Zack Snyder masterpiece “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” there were quite a few Turkish Airlines scenes that were…something. They weren’t the smoothest examples of product placement, that’s for sure. Either way, it’s obvious that Turkish Airlines is fully committed to spending some big bucks when the right collaboration is found.

You can watch the full six-minute short below, as well as a special behind-the-scenes video featuring Ridley Scott. And just for kicks, we included the ‘Batman v. Superman’ stuff, as well. Enjoy!
