'Shadow And Bone' Trailer: Netflix's Big-Budget Fantasy Series Debuts In April From The Writer Of 'Arrival'

Netflix is never one to shy away from ambitious film and TV projects. But judging by the trailer for “Shadow and Bone,” you could argue that the new series based on the best-selling novels by author Leigh Bardugo might be the biggest series the streaming service has produced yet.

As seen in the new trailer for “Shadow and Bone,” the show follows the story of a young mapmaker that is sent into the Shadow Fold and comes back imbued with a strange magical power. She is then recruited to join a group of other soldiers that have strange powers in a battle to save her country.

The new series stars Jessie Mei Li, Archie Renaux, Freddy Carter, Amita Suman, Kit Young, Ben Barnes, Sujaya Dasgupta, Danielle Galligan, Daisy Head, Simon Sears, Calahan Skogman, Zoë Wanamaker, Kevin Eldon, Julian Kostov, Luke Pasqualino, Jasmine Blackborow, and Gabrielle Brooks. “Shadow and Bone” is written and showrun by Eric Heisserer. You probably know his name as the Oscar-nominated writer for the film, “Arrival.” The series is directed by Lee Toland Krieger.
