Sly Stallone Wants Bruce Willis As 'Expendables 2' Villain

Before we begin this story, we’ve gotta say, it’s great to stay in touch with your fans, but Sylvester Stallone, you’re 64. Having a Twitter account is somewhere south of cool. That being said, we’re not going to say that to his face, because he, um, doesn’t really portray the normal attributes of a 64 year old.

It doesn’t seem like he’ll stop Tweeting anytime soon. Stallone recently spoke of dinner plans by tweeting, “Had dinner with Bruce Willis last night. I want him in Expendables II as a super villain. What do you think?” Willis, you recall, factored in one scene in “The Expendables” as a mysterious operative who sent our heroes on a suicide mission into the heart of a South American country under martial law. It was obvious early on that the mission was only to serve the interests of a corrupt CIA agent shepherding mass drug deals, but Willis’ villainous smirk wasn’t heard from again in the narrative.

In an early draft of the script we read, the Expendables did indeed confront Willis’ character a second time, surprising him and whisking him away in cuffs, only for him to make a typical action movie threat about returning. Presumably though, Stallone couldn’t fit Willis’ salary and schedule demands for a second scene in the film, so this possibility has definitely been on his mind for awhile. From the sounds of it, Willis and Stallone spitballed a number of ideas for the second film over a nice nosh, with Willis suggesting Steve Austin’s character could have a twin brother. With “Expendables” nearly matching its $80 million domestic take overseas with more than a few big territories to go, who needs writers when you’ve got Hudson Hawk on the case?
