'Spider-Man 3': Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, Kirsten Dunst & Emma Stone Reportedly Returning For The Sequel

Just as we suspected earlier today (like an hour ago), when it was announced that Alfred Molina would return as Doctor Octopus in “Spider-Man 3,” the rest of the rumors and speculation are beginning to get reported as fact. Basically, the upcoming sequel to “Spider-Man: Far From Home” is going to be the ‘Endgame’ of the Spidey-verse, with tons of familiar faces from the previous ‘Spider-Man’ franchises returning.

You’ve heard the rumors already surely, and well, according to a report from Collider, many of them are true and then some. Evidently, Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina aren’t the other ‘Spider-Man’ veterans from other versions of the franchise showing up in the new Tom Holland-led “Spider-Man 3.” From Sam Raimi’s universe, the report claims that Molina will be joined by Kirsten Dunst and (maybe) Tobey Maguire. The latter is still in negotiations and the rumors going around are that Maguire is asking for a lot and holding out. So he may appear, but only if they can work out a deal. And from the ‘Amazing’ universe, Foxx is going to apparently be joined by Emma Stone (pregnancy permitting) and Andrew Garfield. So, yes, three Spider-Men, if it all works out in the end, anyhow. It feels like a big if, but we shall see.

With Benedict Cumberbatch previously reported as joining the cast as Doctor Strange, this led many fans to believe that multiverse shenanigans were afoot. And clearly, with this report (following months of speculation from a variety of blogs around the web…no pun intended), multiversal shenanigans are definitely going to play a role in whatever Marvel Studios and Sony have cooked up for Tom Holland and his supporting cast including Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Marisa Tomei. Following the events of ‘Far From Home,’ where Peter Parker was revealed to be the guy in the Spider-Man mask, perhaps the young teen consults the good Doctor Strange to use his magic to put the genie back in the bottle, and somehow that results in the universe falling apart? We shall see.
