The 2022 Razzie Awards Create New Category To Highlight Bruce Willis & His Awful 2021 Performances

Obviously, we all know about the Razzies. Every year, timed with the announcement of the Oscars nominations, the Golden Raspberry Awards nominations are revealed, showcasing the very worst in film each year. And this year is no different. There are films up for Worst Film, such as “The Woman in the Window,” “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” and “Infinite,” among others. Folks like Megan Fox (“Midnight in the Switchgrass”) and Ben Platt (“Dear Evan Hansen”) are singled out for in the Worst Performance categories. But the 2022 Razzies brought something new to the table, which is amazing.

This year, the Razzies introduced a special category—Worst Performance by Bruce Willis in a 2021 Movie. You might be scratching your head. How can Bruce Willis take up his own category? Well, he appeared in no fewer than 8 films in 2021 and his performance is terrible in each and every one of them.

Here are the nominations:

Bruce Willis / American Siege
Bruce Willis / Apex

Bruce Willis / Cosmic Sin
Bruce Willis / Deadlock
Bruce Willis / Fortress
Bruce Willis / Midnight in the Switchgrass
Bruce Willis / Out of Death
Bruce Willis / Survive the Game

For those wondering what the hell is going on with Bruce Willis nowadays, well the actor has basically left behind major studio filmmaking and is focusing on making really terrible, generic action films where he is paid an exorbitant fee to show up for a few days, barely attempt to read lines, and deliver performances that can be generously deemed “phoned in.” Recently, RedLetterMedia released a long video talking about the behind-the-scenes issues and financing. It’s pretty eye-opening.

All that to say, the golden age of Bruce Willis is long gone, and now, it would appear that he’s ready to do the bare minimum to collect a paycheck by lending his name, likeness, and “skills” for a quick paycheck, no matter how terrible the film might turn out.

Thankfully, we have the Razzies to shine a light on this. The full nominations can be found below:
