'Thor: Ragnaork': 2 New Clips With Loki, Hulk & More

It is safe to say that many people were lukewarm towards the two “Thor” movies Marvel has released thus far. Which is a real shame, given that the character himself, a hammer-wielding God, has plenty of potential for potent cinematic entertainment. It is not that 2011’s “Thor” and 2013’s “Thor: The Dark World” did not capture the crushing and feverous soul of the iconic Marvel hero, it is just that they failed to bring any sort of humanism to the story. There was no investment; it all felt (especially ‘The Dark World’) like a CGI extravaganza that sunk away any character development in favor of over-the-top action. The best of the MCU (“Iron Man,” “Guardians of the Galaxy”) actually had characters you cared for because their directors knew that to be fully invested in the shenanigans of a comic world you need to find reliability, no matter how outrageous the concept.

Therefore, it is with that in mind that we are approaching the release of a third Thor movie: “Thor: Raganork.” The good news is that a new director is in the driving seat, Taika Waititi (“Hunt for the Wilderpeople” “What We Do in the Shadows”) a commendable talent that will likely bring a fresh new style to the property It’s not just Thor’s haircut, which is different this time around, it is also that, according to the director himself, this third installment will have some much-needed humor added to the mix. Taking a cue from the aforementioned “Iron Man,” but more specifically, “Guardians of the Galaxy,” Waititi will most likely use the snappy, frenetically charged joking around that made his last two films such a hoot to watch.

A low-res clip from “Raganork” has surfaced. The clip has Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) clashing, with the God of Mischief winning the matchup without trouble.
Thompson’s Valkyrie is expected to play an important role in the future of MCU, with even rumors pointing to her inclusion in next year’s much anticipated “Avengers: Infinity War.” Meanwhile, another clip sees Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) getting ready to rumble.

“Thor: Ragnaork” opens on November 3rd.
