Tiffany Haddish Teases Paul Thomas Anderson Project

Paul Thomas Anderson has spent part of his press run for “Phantom Thread” make it quite clear he adores Tiffany Hadish and is eager to work with the breakout star of “Girls Trip.”

“I dare anybody to try and do what Tiffany Haddish did in [‘Girls Trip’]. That’s like a fucking magic trip how good she is in that, and I dare anybody to try and go take after take — or do one take as good as she does. She is a fucking force. She’s such a great performer,” he recently enthused. Anderson even went as far as giving “Phantom Thread” star Lesley Manville his phone number to pass long to Haddish at the New York Film Critics Circle awards, and the good news is that the gambit paid off.

Vulture caught up recently with Haddish and she revealed that yes, she’s been talking with Anderson, and the pair are already tossing around ideas for what a project between them might look like.

“I’ve been talking to him on the telephone! I mean, he put his phone number out there, so I had to call. I’ve talked to him a few times and we’re probably gonna work together,” the actress said, going on to hint. “….we’ve been talking a lot about Los Angeles, back when Central Avenue was the Sunset Boulevard of L.A. … I don’t know, I don’t know!”

Maybe a jazz-era comedy set in the days when L.A.’s Little Harlem was thriving? Whatever they’re planning on cooking up, we’ll be there to watch it. For now, be sure to catch “Phantom Thread” in cinemas — it’s actually quite a bit funnier than you think it might be.
