While he still looks a decade younger than his age, there’s only so many years left until 53 year-old Tom Cruise, won’t be able to do his own stunts, so it certainly seems like he’s trying to get his action oriented roles in the can before his body lets up. He’s currently shooting the drug thriller "Mena" with Doug Liman, this fall he’ll team with Ed Zwick for "Jack Reacher 2," and it looks like he’ll suit up as Ethan Hunt again next summer.
Hitting "The Daily Show" to promote "Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation," which is already earning rave notices (read our review), Cruise reveals that plans are already underway for a sixth installment. “We’re starting to work on it now. We’ll probably start shooting it next summer," he told Jon Stewart.
But all this likely depends on the box office receipts for ‘Rogue Nation,’ which is apparently tracking at what the film industry considers to be "low" figure of $40 million for its opening weekend, though much can change by this Friday, especially given the positive buzz. More importantly, Cruise remains a massive star overseas.

And that’s something to consider with this next tidbit about "Edge Of Tomorrow," which barely made it to $100 million domestically but earned $269 million abroad: a sequel possibility is being tossed around.
“I pitched it to [‘Rogue Nation’ director and ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ screenwriter Christopher] McQuarrie and [‘Edge of Tomorrow’ director] Doug [Liman]. We were there one night and I was like, ‘I’ve got an idea for it,’” Cruise told MTV. And yes, he also wants Emily Blunt to return as well.
So lots of possibilities are on the horizon, but first ‘Rogue Nation’ needs to get out there first. It opens this Friday and below you can check out Cruise’s interview with Stewart, a new clip from the film, a 22-minute Q&A with the ‘Rogue Nation’ cast, the Honest Trailer for "Mission: Impossible" franchise, plus some featurettes and TV spots.
