8 TV Shows To Watch In November: 'House Of Cards,' 'The Little Drummer Girl' & More

It’s suspiciously light on the TV front this month (perhaps not a bad thing with the abundance of films we have to add to our watch lists), but what it lacks for quantity it makes up for in intriguing debuts and returns of fan favorites. From experimenting with the format to the replacement of a lead in one of Netflix’s most popular shows, to Sam Esmail’s first endeavor following his success with “Mr. Robot,” there will be some intriguing binges in the month of November.

Following Kevin Spacey’s firing in 2017, the series faced a bleak and uncertain future. Now, nearly one year later, the show intends to spin Washington on its head as Robin Wright takes on the title of Commander-in-Chief. Joining Wright on the show this season is Diane Lane, who also appears in new Amazon series “The Romanoffs.” Greg Kinnear also stars, as well as Constance Zimmer, who returns to the show as journalist Janine Skorsky. It’s her turn indeed, as President Claire Underwood is unleashed on Capitol Hill this fall.

Julia Roberts in her first television role leads the series as a counselor helping soldiers return to civilian life. In the same vein as Esmail’s previous series, there is little doubt that “Homecoming” will be a stylish and thought-provoking show. Interestingly, the series is based on a popular podcast (yes, really) and Roberts happened to be a fan which made her perfect to take on the title role of Heidi Bergman. Our review says “Homecoming” features Roberts’ “best performance in years,” so it sounds like it’ll be worth your while to check out this exciting series.
