Two Beautiful New Posters Arrive For 'Blade Runner 2049' With Ryan Gosling & Harrison Ford

Of all the eagerly-anticipated blockbusters of 2017, the biggest question mark might be “Blade Runner 2049.” On paper, it should be terrific: it’s produced by original director Ridley Scott, helmer Denis Villeneuve is on a hell of a run culminating in last year’s Oscar-nominated “Arrival,” he’s brought DOP Roger Deakins with him, and star Harrison Ford is returning to one of his most famous roles, atop an intriguing cast that also includes Ryan Gosling.

But the nagging feeling won’t quite go away: partly because the original film is so beloved, and such a unique kind of sci-fi picture that would be hard to replicate, and partly because Jared Leto is in the sequel. But the first teaser for the film was promising, and we’ll likely find out more next week, with a Facebook Q&A scheduled for last week that’s likely to lead into a new trailer for the movie.

Ahead of that, the film’s Twitter has debuted a couple of new posters for the film, and they’re very striking indeed. One’s focused on Gosling’s new character, with the Twitter tagline reading “A new civilization begins now,” the other sees Ford’s Deckard with the tagline “You know his past. Discover his future,” and again backing up our theory that Ford agreed to the movie on the condition that he got to wear his own clothes to set.

Anyway, they’re beautiful posters, and certainly get us amped up for any trailer that might drop next week. The eclectic cast also includes Hiam Abbass, Barkhad Abdi, Ana De Armas, Dave Bautista, David Dastmalchian, Mackenzie Davis, Sylvia Hoeks, Lennie James, Carla Juri, Robin Wright and at least one other returning character from the first movie, and you’ll be able to check it out in theaters on October 6th.
