Watch: Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Stars In SNL's Disney Spoof, A Live-Action 'Bambi'

Disney, Live-Action'Bambi', SNL“When I was young they took my mother… now it’s time for them to pay… dearly.” Saturday Night Live’s digital shorts are still far and away the best thing about the show, and their spoofs about movies usually hit on point with strong laughs. Last night the show didn’t disappoint as they spoofed Disney’s fascination with making live-action movies out of all their properties (which isn’t going to stop any time soon, given the grosses). This time it’s “Bambi” with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the cigar-chomping Cervidae himself.

Attempting to be both a send-up of Disney and the ‘Fast & Furious‘ series, the fake trailer says the movie is directed by the helmer of “Furious 7” (which would be James Wan) and boasts Vin Diesel (Taran Killam) as Thumper, Tyrese Gibson (Jay Pharoah) as Flower and Michelle Rodriguez (Cecily Strong) as Faline. It’s a fun little lampoon of hyper-stylized action films like the ‘Furious’ series (plus, the amusing spot-on dig at Ludacris, played by Pharoah, who raps the first single from the fake movie, "Wham Bam Bambi"). “Get Bucked,” the tagline goes, Disney’s Bambi is supposed to hit theaters 2016.
