Watch: Experience The Magic In New Trailer And Clip For 'Now You See Me 2'

Right now, the reaction to “Now You See Me 2” can be summed up in one word: really? No one really loved the first movie, and certainly there was no sustained cry for a sequel, but Lionsgate have faith they can take the modest success of “Now You See Me” and turn it into a franchise. And so, here we are, and we’ll soon see if the studio’s gamble paid off.

Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Lizzy Caplan, Jay Chou, Daniel Radcliffe, Mark Ruffalo, and Michael Caine all star in this go-round in which the team of magicians from the first movie are roped into stealing some computer something or other and Eisenberg stops the rain with his hands. As you can tell, I didn’t watch this trailer too closely, and like the first movie, I’m not sure the plot details particularly matter. But here’s the synopsis if you want to dive in:

THE FOUR HORSEMEN [Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Lizzy Caplan] return for a second mind-bending adventure, elevating the limits of stage illusion to new heights and taking them around the globe. One year after outwitting the FBI and winning the public’s adulation with their Robin Hood-style magic spectacles, the illusionists resurface for a comeback performance in hopes of exposing the unethical practices of a tech magnate. The man behind their vanishing act is none other than WALTER MABRY [Daniel Radcliffe], a tech prodigy who threatens the Horsemen into pulling off their most impossible heist yet. Their only hope is to perform one last unprecedented stunt to clear their names and reveal the mastermind behind it all.

“Now You See Me 2” opens on June 10th. Trailer above and clip below.
