Earlier this summer Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson finally reteamed for “The Internship” but unfortunately, it wasn’t quite the “Wedding Crashers“-esque comedy we were hoping for. Intermittently funny, it was a pale imitation of their earlier efforts, and even an appearance by Will Ferrell in a cameo couldn’t stem the diminishing returns. However, it appears that there was a bit more Ferrell left on the cutting room floor.
Rolling Stone has a deleted scene from the film in which Ferrell’s asshole, sex obsessed mattress store manager, makes a return dressed as Boba Fett at a cosplay party. Like much of the rest of the movie, the scene is half-baked and only sorta half-amusing but if you’re curious or a Ferrell completionist or something then you might as well give it a watch below.
In related news, Vaughn, who has been lining up a number of non-comedy projects, has recently seen one fall apart. Deadline reports that Universal has dropped “Term Life,” which would’ve seen Vaughn team up with Hailee Steinfeld to play a crooked criminal on the run with his daughter from mob bosses, dirty cops and more. Peter Billingsley was attached to direct, but it seems this one has bitten the dust for now, and no word if it might get set up elsewhere.
So until more word arrives about that, check out the clip below. “The Internship” is on home video tomorrow.
