WB/DC's Comic-Con Plans Reportedly Include Gal Gadot And 'Man Of Steel 2'

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, all eyes will be on Warner Bros. and DC. After struggling in recent years on their DCEU films (minus “Wonder Woman”), we’ve been hearing through multiple reports that the folks at WB are looking to steer the ship in a new direction for their superhero films. And SDCC is a prime spot to do this, with their biggest competition Marvel Studios, not doing anything in Hall H, as they normally do. So, as we approach the big July event in California, it appears that WB/DC is going to pull out all the stops, in their attempt to wow fans.

Recently, reports have begun to surface with speculation as to what WB/DC has up their sleeves for SDCC. First, even though filming has just started, WB is reportedly going to have Gal Gadot in attendance to promote “Wonder Woman 1984.” According to Deadline, Gadot will be on hand to promote her upcoming sequel in a “surprise” appearance. While they’re not sure what Gadot will show the thousands of fans in Hall H, a full trailer is likely not in the cards. However, don’t be surprised if she shows off a behind-the-scenes sizzle reel or a little quick teaser.

The other big rumor for WB’s presentation at SDCC surrounds Superman. The El Fanboy podcast is reporting that there could be a big “Man of Steel 2” announcement at the July event. “Man of Steel 2” has been heavily rumored for years now, with major directors reportedly interested in taking the reins of the Superman franchise. The seeds for this sequel are also rumored to be planted in the upcoming “Shazam,” where it’s widely speculated that Henry Cavill will make an appearance.

Along with these bits of speculation, it’s also rumored that we could hear more information about WB/DC’s upcoming film slate, and a new “label” for their non-DCEU films. Whether some or all of this actually happens will have to wait until July, when SDCC kicks off. However, it definitely seems like WB really wants to take advantage of Marvel’s absence and steal the show in San Diego.
