Strap in, because eleven months of marketing begins now. With "The Hunger Games" earning over $680 million worldwide, launching Jennifer Lawrence into the stratosphere and cementing a new tween brand, Lionsgate want those numbers to keep going up. Which is why with a release date set for November, they're starting to get the word out now on the sequel.
Entertainment Weekly has dropped the first look at Katniss and Finnick in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," along with two more images featuring Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. Sam Claflin is the new addition to the cast, and in case you didn't read the book (you're not a true fan), Finnick is a popular, former victor of the Hunger Games who crosses paths with Katniss and Peeta during a particularly crucial moment. The character sticks around as well, and will be seen in the two-film finale "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay." And the actor certainly feels the weight of expectation, telling the magazine, "I’m on Twitter and so many people have been like ‘Don’t mess this up, or we will kill you.’”
So tell us, devotees…does he look the part? 'Catching Fire' arrives on November 22nd.
