There are comeback vehicles, and then there is whatever the hell this is. After being cut loose by Hollywood and dropped from Marvel following his domestic violence conviction, disgraced Hollywood actor Jonathan Majors has resurfaced in “Run Hide Fight: Infidels,” a $5 million Daily Wire action thriller that appears to answer the question: what if someone turned a full-blown Ben Shapiro crash-out into a scaremongering campus-shootout movie?
Produced by The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend, the film stars Majors as a Delta Force veteran who helps rescue students after radical Islamic terrorists hijack a liberal college’s pro-Palestinian encampment and attempt to impose Sharia law on campus (LOL! via Page Six). So, yes, the premise is exactly as subtle, poisonous, and algorithmically engineered as it sounds: a right-wing fearmongering fantasy about college protest, Islamophobia, “woke” America, pro-Palestinian panic, and one persona non grata movie star strapping on tactical gear to save the day.
The trailer opens with a blitz of real-world terror imagery, Fox News-ready alarmism, 9/11 signifiers, ISIS footage, Middle East unrest, and campus chaos before arriving at a Virginia college where an ISIS flag flies overhead and the call to prayer is deployed like a cheap and lazy horror-movie sting. The tagline: “Coming soon… Or already here.” Subtle. It’s all less a tagline than a sweaty Facebook post from your most divorced, MAGA-friendly uncle after mainlining eight straight hours of cable-news brain damage. Majors is not actually seen in the trailer, but this is what panic-stoking teasers are for. Somewhere, Jesse Watters’ pulse just spiked.
Kyle Rankin, who directed the original “Run Hide Fight,” returns for the sequel, and the continuity makes sense. The first film was already a school-shooting thriller retrofitted into Daily Wire counterprogramming. This one appears to go several steps further, turning the company’s entire editorial diet—campus hysteria, anti-Palestinian paranoia, anti-Muslim panic, anti- “woke” grievance, and macho victimhood—into action-movie cosplay.
And that is really the point. “Run Hide Fight: Infidels” is more of an ideological product demo than a movie. The Daily Wire’s entertainment arm has long tried to sell itself as a conservative Hollywood alternative, but its output has mostly played like content made for people who confuse being mad at culture with participating in it. This trailer is no exception. It is grievance cinema: blunt, ugly, paranoid, and convinced its lack of subtlety is a virtue.
The desperation feels especially telling and loud because The Daily Wire itself is reportedly in rough shape. Semafor reported this week that the company’s paid subscriptions, which account for about three-quarters of its revenue, dropped by a third in 2025 to roughly 850,000, while ad revenue has declined every year since 2022. The Washington Post also reported last month that its YouTube subscriber base has plateaued or shrunk in 15 of the 16 months since the start of 2025. So “Run Hide Fight: Infidels” isn’t just culture-war slop; it reads like a company in retreat trying to manufacture a new outrage cycle because the old outrage machine is sputtering. Nothing says confidence quite like a struggling propaganda shop tossing a disgraced actor into an anti-Muslim campus-shootout fantasy and calling it entertainment.
Producer Dallas Sonnier is apparently not bothering with plausible deniability either. He has compared the film to ’80s action movies like “Red Dawn,” railed against Hollywood’s “woke” culture, and said the pro-Palestinian movement “deserves to be mocked in a movie again.” Credit, maybe, for being honest. This is not a “what if?” thriller. It is a culture-war revenge fantasy dressed up as junky action pulp.
The off-screen chaos does not exactly help the stench. The production, which shot in South Carolina under the working title “Knuckle,” faced crew complaints over safety conditions after Majors and co-star JC Kilcoyne fell through a window during filming, with Kilcoyne requiring stitches. There were also allegations involving falling props, black mold, and an asbestos-risk location, with IATSE calling a strike against the production in March. If the trailer looks like a mess, apparently, that energy extended behind the camera, too.
Majors, once positioned as one of the industry’s next major stars after “Creed III,” “Lovecraft Country,” and his role as Kang in the Marvel universe, was found guilty in 2023 of assault and harassment. Since then, studios have largely treated him like an especially toxic form of krptonite. The Daily Wire, unsurprisingly, saw an opportunity—not for redemption, exactly, but for culture war utility. A disgraced actor, once set to be Hollywood’s golden boy, a preloaded persecution narrative, and a movie built to inflame the exact audience most eager to call backlash “cancellation.” It is all very tidy. It is also very grim.
“Run Hide Fight: Infidels” will debut on The Daily Wire platform this fall, where it will presumably be hailed as brave by people who think propaganda becomes art if enough guns and arabs are involved.
Look, work is work. But if this is how Majors wants to play his comeback—tying himself to a Daily Wire fever dream stitched from culture-war paranoia and militarized role-play—good luck.
