‘Ransom Canyon’ Season 2 Trailer: Josh Duhamel & Minka Kelly Return To Netflix’s Texas Hill Country Romance This July

Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly return for more ranch-country romance, family dynasty drama, and small-town power struggles when Season 2 premieres July 23 on Netflix.

Every streamer needs its “Yellowstone,” or at least something that can scratch the same ranch-country, land-and-legacy itch. For Netflix, “Ransom Canyon” is less a Taylor Sheridan clone than a softer, more romance-forward spin on the same broad territory: Texas vistas, family dynasties, power struggles, small-town secrets, and complicated love stories.

Netflix has released the new trailer and images for Season 2 of the drama, which returns on July 23, with Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly back at the center of the sweeping Western melodrama. Created and executive produced by April Blair, the series follows the intersecting lives of deep-rooted families in a Texas Hill Country town where everyone knows everyone’s business, and love, loyalty, and legacy are always tangled together.

Season 2 picks up six months after the events of the first season, with rancher Staten Kirkland fighting to reclaim his legacy after being unseated as trustee of his family’s Double K Ranch. Meanwhile, musician Quinn O’Grady has to decide whether her heart truly belongs in the small town she once tried to outrun, or back in the faster-paced world of New York City.

This season, Netflix says the stakes are higher than ever as the future of Ransom Canyon hangs in the balance, ranching dynasties continue to vie for power, and new faces arrive to threaten the lives and loves of the town. In other words: land, romance, family damage, and power grabs, just with Netflix’s more heart-on-sleeve melodrama setting the tone.

The returning cast includes Lizzy Greene, Garrett Wareing, Jack Schumacher, Marianly Tejada, and Casey W. Johnson. Guest stars this season include Patricia Clarkson, Ben Robson, Brett Cullen, Heidi Engerman, Philip Winchester, Steve Howey, Tatanka Means, Justin Johnson Cortez, and Jennifer Ens.

Blair serves as showrunner, creator, and executive producer. Dan Angel, Bradley Gardner, Duhamel, Kelly, and Joe Fazzio also executive produce.
