‘Furious’ Trailer: Emmy Rossum Tracks A Female Serial Killer In Hulu’s Twisted FBI Thriller

What is the difference between right and wrong? For FBI agent Alice Black, the answer becomes increasingly unstable in “Furious,” a new crime thriller that follows a federal agent searching for a murderer while also confronting questions about her own identity. The series centers on Black as she pursues a calculating female serial killer, with both women soon set on a collision course that will alter not only their lives but also those of everyone in their orbit.

Elizabeth Meriwether writes and executive produces the project. The multi-hyphenate is best known for creating the beloved comedy series “New Girl,” and for writing the screenplay for the 2011 romantic comedy “No Strings Attached.” Brian Kirk directs and executive produces two episodes of “Furious,” following work on “Penny Dreadful,” “Game Of Thrones,” and, more recently, “The Day Of The Jackal.”

The upcoming series is led by Emmy Rossum, who portrays the conflicted FBI agent Alice Black. Rossum also serves as an executive producer for Composition 8, alongside Ronald Bass, Matt Olmstead, and Sam Hoffman. Lola Petticrew, Scoot McNairy, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, and Jake Lacy co-star.

The series’ official synopsis reads:

From creator and executive producer Elizabeth Meriwether, “Furious” follows FBI agent Alice Black (Emmy Rossum) on the hunt for a mysterious and calculating female serial killer. Both walk their own paths toward justice, and as their lives start to intertwine, the line between right and wrong begins to blur.

An agent and a serial killer challenge justice, morality, and each other in “Furious.” The series debuts on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ with a three-episode premiere on July 27. New episodes will be available every Monday, with the season finale set for August 31. Watch the new trailer below.
