Got a Tip?

Tom Six Suing Dieter Laser After Actor Walks From ‘Human Centipede 3’ Over Script Issues

nullUpdate: Dieter Laser has responded to Screenread with his side of what happened and how it affected his approach to the role: "It’s very simple: I loved the story when it was told, got the contract and the promise to have the script in 4 to 6 weeks. When it arrived – half a year later and only after the official announcement – I didn’t like the realization at all, couldn’t identify with the character the way it was written and developed immediately and enthusiastically in a day and night marathon a version full of concrete and practical suggestions which would enable me to play the lead full throttle – same procedure as with Dr. Heiter – but this time it also would have had some unavoidable effects to the dramatic structure. That was too much for Tom and since he couldn’t live with my suggestions and I as a method actor couldn’t identify with his version, I told him that I couldn’t see any other way than that he would have to ‘change horses’. That’s it.”

We don't mean to alarm you, but "The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence)" might be in trouble. With the film apparently only weeks away from rolling, its star Dieter Laser has apparently walked, hilariously, over issues with the script. Which makes us wonder just how good/bad/gross this final installment, rumored to have a 500 person long chain of anus-to-mouth action, will really be.

Bleeding Cool has rounded up the bizarre news that unfolded over the interwebs today. This morning, Six hit Twitter, revealing in a couple of tweets: "BREAKING NEWS: MY COMPANY WILL SUE ACTOR DIETER LASER!!! WORDWIDE PRESS RELEASE WILL FOLLOW SHORTLY" followed by (with caps lock now turned off), "An actor who demands his own script changes which I as the THC creator didnt like. It was his way or the highway after he signed a contract!"

Hoo boy. Then Six's sister and producer issued a formal press release over on Best Movie News Ever revealing all the not-so-tawdry details:

Tom Six’s company will sue Dieter Laser.

Because of the success of The Human Centipede, it seems that Mr Dieter Laser’s ego has grown to laughably big proportions. First signing the contract and rating the THC3 script as fantastic, and then demanding his own unacceptable script changes, and now refusing to play the part only seven weeks prior to shooting. Six Entertainment Company will start legal action against Dieter Laser. Tom Six says not to worry – principal photography will be postponed and will take place later this year.

Best Regards,

Ilona Six
Film Producer

No word on what these demands are, but we can't imagine that in a trilogy whose sole idea is stitching people together ass-to-mouth in increasingly larger chains that Laser's changes were unreasonable. Hell, maybe the dude has just had enough. Anyway, it seems Six and co. are confident enough to already declare they will shoot later this year, but of course, the question remains whether it will be with Laser or not. Looks like 'Full Sequence' will be on hold for the moment. Your stomach thanks you.
