Yes, even we are being to feel “Inception” fatigue believe it or not. Reporting on the minutia of every little part of the film is getting somewhat tiresome.
Or wait, a new rather amazing trailer has arrived so you can pretty much throw out that sentiment out the window and practically revert us back into salivating fanboys again, it’s that good.
Yet another trailer, this one a surprisingly revealing character focused version, has been unveiled for Christopher Nolan’s new inside-the-mind thriller and it seems to put a few more pieces of the story together as well as introducing some new concepts. The line of dialogue from Dileep Rao’s character, “dreams within dreams is too unstable” literally makes us spittake and only amps up our anticipation all the more.
Basing itself on those cryptic character posters and their titles, the trailer gives each character in the film a moment and shows footage of Leonardo DiCaprio’s Dom Cobb and his team of dream thief artists interacting and discussing the concept of entering dreams. Characters like Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt seemingly act as the audiences’ eyes as we get extensive dialogue and clips about dream conception/building (including what “the kick” is) and with it a lot of new footage.
Marion Cotillard, a character whose arc is mostly shrouded in mystery, also features momentarily, confirming what we already known of her character (we won’t repeat it here, but it seems obvious so far). Some of that mystery is seemingly hinted at as Page questions DiCaprio’s personal afflictions when he explains that “building dreams from your own memory is easiest way to lose your grasp on what’s real and what is a dream.”
With the film now just under a month from release (July 16), we presume this will be the last of the released footage. At least we hope so as there’s certainly more than enough plot out there already.
