Got a Tip?

Rumor: Chris Pine Is Hal Jordan, WB Planning Multiple Green Lanterns

Jack Ryan: Shadow RecruitThis year’s San Diego Comic-Con is going to be a bit quieter than past years. Sony, Marvel and Paramount are all skipping the event in 2015, leaving Warner Bros. plenty of room to make some big noise. And according to the latest rumors, they plan to do just that.

You might remember that last month, Chris Pine was cast as Steve Trevor, the love interest to Gal Gadot in "Wonder Woman." But the latest chatter is suggesting Warner Bros. was hoodwinking everyone. Latino Review is reporting that Pine has actually been cast as Hal Jordan, aka The Green Lantern, with "Wonder Woman" being used as a cover story for now. And things take an even more interesting turn.

Collider is reporting that WB plans to introduce multiple Green Lanterns — after all, they are part of a bigger intergalactic police corps — for the franchise reboot. The rumors are spinning that Hal Jordan and Jon Stewart will appear in "Justice League," and that the actors slated to play them may be rolled into Hall H and Comic-Con to smile and wave at the fans. It’s an interesting approach to redo the character, but we’ll see how this chatter plays out.

Meanwhile, remember last year when it was reported that Ben Affleck would helm and star in "The Batman" for a 2019 release? Latino Review is now saying the film has been moved up to 2018 to give Marvel’s "Captain Marvel" some competition. We shall see.
