Can a nightclub owner leave his past behind? Manco Kapak’s hopes for the future collide with bitter truths in “The Get Out.” The thriller sees Kapak’s retirement plans quickly upended thanks to cartels, a mysterious man, and two ruthless gunmen. ‘Out’ is directed by Derrick Borte, from a screenplay by Borte and Daniel Forte. It is based on Thomas Perry’s novel “Strip.” The filmmaker’s previous projects include the 2009 dramedy “The Joneses,” which he also co-wrote.
Russell Crowe stars as Kapak. Crowe and Borte previously worked together on the 2020 film “Unhinged.” The actor also stars in the upcoming “Highlander” remake. Luke Evans and Teresa Palmer co-star in “The Get Out,” with Nina Dobrev and Aaron Paul rounding out the cast.

“A nightclub owner (Russell Crowe) is on the verge of leaving his dangerous past behind for retirement with his girlfriend (Teresa Palmer). When masked gunmen (Nina Dobrev, Aaron Paul) rob him, and he finds himself squeezed by ruthless cartels, a mysterious newcomer (Luke Evans) arrives with an interest in buying the business. With danger closing in from all sides, he must navigate a deadly web of deception, power, and survival – where escape may no longer be an option.”
Nickel City Pictures’ Mark Fasano, A Higher Standard’s Jeffrey Greenstein, G2 Dispatch’s Deborah Glover, and Life & Soul Pictures’ Mark Bower serve as producers on “The Get Out.” The film opens in select theaters on June 26.
