Got a Tip?

Watch: John Hillcoat’s Video Game Mini-Movie ‘Red Dead Redemption’

We sure wish John Hillcoat had been directing “The Wettest Country In The World” instead, but his latest project, a video game based mini-movie for “Red Dead Redemption” recently premiered on cable and has now made its way online. The half hour short basically looks like one long cut scene from the video game which we suppose is kind of the point. It will probably just make you want to play the game which from what the hear, is actually pretty great.

Anyway, Hillcoat has a few projects on his plate for his potential next feature film, including a remake of Jean-Pierre Melville’s “Le Cercle Rouge”; the pioneer revenge film “The Revenant” potentially starring Christian Bale; an adaptation of Nick Cave’s novel “The Death Of Bunny Munro” with UK TV in development, a film about the legendary NY cop Joe Petrosino with Benicio Del Toro attached and Pete Dexter writing, and a similar sounding titled “Mob Cops” with ‘Sopranos’ writer Terrence Winter in the works. On top of that, Hillcoat was also in talks to remake 1973 French heist film “La Bonne Année” with ‘Road’ scribe Joe Penhall and actor Daniel Craig.
