Got a Tip?

Jude Law And Carrie Coon Signed On For Next Film From ‘Martha Marcy May Marlene’ Director

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a feature film from director Sean Durkin. The filmmaker behind 2011’s critically-acclaimed “Martha Marcy May Marlene” has only directed a four-episode British mini-series “Southcliffe” since. However, it looks like his long-awaited feature film follow-up is coming together and he’s enlisted a couple great actors to lead the way.

Variety is reporting that Jude Law and Carrie Coon have signed on to star in Durkin’s next film, “The Nest.” The report describes the film as “part psychological thriller, part family drama” that takes place in the ‘80s and follows Rory, played by Law, who is an entrepreneur that brings his American family to England. After the family begins to find that living in an English manor house is far from their suburban American roots, each member of the family begins to descend into self-destruction.

Jude Law is next going to be seen in the upcoming Woody Allen film “A Rainy Day in New York.” After that, the actor is going a bit mainstream with “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,” playing famous ‘Harry Potter’ character Albus Dumbledore. He also has a co-starring role in the upcoming Marvel Studios film “Captain Marvel,” playing Mar-Vell.

Carrie Coon also has Marvel connections, as she can now be seen voicing Proxima Midnight in the just-released “Avengers: Infinity War.” However, many of our readers will know her from her roles in “The Leftovers” and “Fargo.” The latter of which earned the actress an Emmy nomination.

There’s no release date for “The Nest,” but FilmNation and BBC Films (who are co-producing) are going to start selling the distribution rights for the film beginning at next month’s Cannes Film Festival.
