'The Night Is Short, Walk On Girl' Trailer: A Young Girl Experiences One Epic Night In Kyoto

When you watch “The Night Is Short, Walk On Girl,” it’s recommended that you don’t blink. Explosions of color at high speed are what’s in store with director Masaaki Yuasa‘s latest feature. With its upcoming limited release, this won’t be a feature to miss.

A rambunctious night through the city of Kyoto mixed with libations and unrequited love are all in store with Yuasa’s film. Known primarily for the Netflix series “Devil: Crybaby,” Yuasa’s ‘Walk On Girl,’ has earned high praise, receiving the award for Best Animation from the Awards of the Japanese Academy. The film does, however, have a very limited run and will only be featured in select theaters this coming August. If you’re a fan of Yuasa’s work, or a devotee to the artful anime style, “The Night Is Short, Walk On Girl,” is a must-see. The trailer feels like a sugar rush. From the visionary mind of director Masaaki Yuasa (“Mind Game, ” “Adventure Time’s ‘Food Chain'”) comes “The Night is Short, Walk On Girl,” a comedy about one epic night in Kyoto. As a group of teens go out for a night on the town, a sophomore known only as ‘The Girl with Black Hair’ experiences a series of surreal encounters with the local nightlife… all the while unaware of the romantic longings of Senpai, a fellow student who has been creating increasingly fantastic and contrived reasons to run into her, in an effort to win her heart.
