Frank Grillo has slowly been building a strong filmography, with roles in films like “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “The Grey,” “Warrior,” and the underrated “The Purge: Anarchy.” And this is a damn shame because the man is easily one of the best parts of each of those films. And with “Into the Ashes” debuting next month, we’re happy to debut an exclusive look at the trailer for the film, as well as the poster. ‘Ashes’ tells the story of a man who comes home to find that his loving wife has been murdered by one of his former criminal associates. From there, you can probably imagine where the story might go, with revenge being at the top of the to-do list for our hero. The trailer also gives off vibes that might make fans remember an era of hard-boiled action/thrillers from the ‘70s/’80s. You could imagine a time when “Into the Ashes” starred Charles Bronson. So, if you’re a fan of hard-hitting, stylish action, this film has you covered.
Grillo stars as the apparent villain of the film, allowing the actor to flex his creepy, intimidating muscles alongside the films other actors, such as Luke Grimes, Robert Taylor, and James Badge Dale. “Into the Ashes” is written and directed by Aaron Harvey, who recently directed the film “The Neighbor.”
“Into the Ashes” hits select theaters, on demand, and digital on July 19.
