The 2020 nominees for the 47th Annie Awards have been announced and Hollywood’s animators, in this case the members of ASIFA-Hollywood, have made some intriguing choices. On the film side, Walt Disney Animation’s “Frozen 2” and LAIKA’s “Missing Link” led all nominees with 8 nods. Netflix’s “Klaus” earned seven nods while Netflix’s “I Lost My Body,” “Toy Story 4,” and “How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” earned six each.

“Frozen 2,” “Missing Link,” “Klaus,” “Toy Story 4” and “The Hidden World” earned Best Feature nominations. It’s worth noting that in the three years since the Annie Awards have limited this category to five nominees (it was between 6 and 10 between 2012 and 2015) the nominees have never completely synced up with the Academy Award’s Best Animated Feature selections.
The 47th Annual Annie Awards will be handed out on Saturday, Jan. 25.
