‘Barry’ Season Three Trailer: Bill Hader Returns As The Emmy-Winning Conflicted Ex-Hitman This April

Bill Hader and Alec Berg have struck television gold with “Barry.” Since the pair’s co-created the series for HBO, it’s nabbed thirty Emmy nominations over its first two seasons and six wins, including an Outstanding Lead Actor victory for Hader. No wonder HBO renewed the show for two more seasons shortly after season 2 began in April 2019.

Now, after a three-year COVID-induced hiatus, “Barry” returns for its third season. Hader’s contract killer-turned-actor continues to escape his old ways, but his violent past proves more complicated to leave behind than he expects.

Here’s the show’s official synopsis:

Desperate to leave his violent past behind in favor of his newfound passion, Barry (Hader) is attempting to untangle himself from the world of contract killing and fully immerse himself in acting. But getting out is messy. While Barry has eliminated many of the external factors that pushed him towards violence, he soon discovers they weren’t the only forces at play. What is it about his own psyche that led him to become a killer in the first place? Season three finds Barry and the other characters trying to make the right choice.

Alongside Hader, “Barry” also sees the returns of Stephen Root, Sarah Goldberg, Anthony Carrigan, and Henry Winkler. Sarah Burns also comes back as a series regular, with D’Arcy Carden and Michael Irby.

Hader and Berg already penned a fourth season for “Barry,” so expect more of this HBO hit next year. First, however, a new eight episodes that premiere weekly starting on Sunday, April 24. Watch the trailer for them below.
