“The Flash” finally hits theaters on June 16 (but not before a world premiere at CinemaCon on April 25), and the film marks what will be the last time Ben Affleck ever plays Batman. Based on recent comments, Affleck sounds okay with that. But Deadline reports that, on a recent appearance on the Smartless podcast, Affleck admitted, “I finally figured out how to play the guy” about his upcoming performance as Bruce Wayne. So, all’s well that ends well, right?
Not only that, Affleck also dished out some info about a cut scene from “The Flash” which features a cameo with Gal Gadot‘s Wonder Woman. The scene sounds pretty good, with Wonder Woman saving Batman’s hide. “I don’t want to give a spoiler,” Affleck told the podcast hosts, But it was a scene where I get caught [and] get saved by Wonder Woman during a conflagration with some bad guys.” Then Affleck joked about some “DC assassins” tracking him down to kill him for leaking spoilers. But given where the DCEU is at the moment, that feels unlikely.
Wariness aside, Affleck describes the scene, with Wonder Woman saving Batman with her Lasso of Truth. “And so what happens is that Batman divulges some of his real feelings about his life and work, ” the actor continued. May that also involve his true feelings for Wonder Woman/Diana Prince? Certain comic series and shows tease a romantic tension between the two superheroes, so maybe there’s that element to the cut scene too. But Affleck didn’t divulge about any of that.
Before “The Flash” has its world premiere at CinemaCon and finally hit theaters this summer, Affleck’s latest film, “Air,” hits theaters first on April 5. Then “Air” hits Prime Video eventually later this year. As for whether this cut scene from “The Flash” ever sees the light of day, let’s wait and see how the film does with audiences first.
