Got a Tip?

Millie Bobby Brown Compares End Of ‘Stranger Things’ To Graduating High School: “I Think I’m Ready”

Debuting way back in 2016, most of the cast of “Stranger Things” were literal children when the show began production. Now, with the end coming with Season 5 (possibly) in 2024, it’ll be interesting to see how the cast adjusts and really begins the next phase of their careers as adult actors. “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown understands that life will be different without the hit TV show, but she’s clearly ready to move on.

Speaking to Women’s Wear Daily, Millie Bobby Brown talked about the end of “Stranger Things” and how she’s “ready” for it to be done. The actress is only 19 now and started the series when she was very young, so it’s understandable that the end of “Stranger Things” would be such a monumental moment in her career.

“I think I’m ready. It’s been such a huge factor in part of my life, but it’s like graduating high school, it’s like senior year,” Brown said. “You’re ready to go and blossom and flourish and you’re grateful for the time you’ve had, but it’s time to create your own message and live your own life.”

The closest comparison to what Brown is currently experiencing is probably what Daniel Radcliffe was faced with at the end of his time in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise. And though there are folks that will only see Radcliffe as the little wizard boy, he’s done a pretty amazing job of taking on very interesting and unexpected roles, particularly in comedy. We’ll have to wait and see how Brown approaches this next stage in her career, as she is likely going to be linked to the role of Eleven for years to come.

Brown has already done non-“Stranger Things” work. She has a starring role in the “Godzilla vs. Kong” franchise. She has also been the star of Netflix’s popular “Enola Holmes” films. And coming up, she has a major role in the massive “Electric State” film from the Russo Brothers. Needless to say, she has plenty of opportunities to shed that “Stranger Things” stink, but it’s really going to be interesting to see how audiences react to her as she grows older and expands her career.

As mentioned, there’s no exact release date for the final season of “Stranger Things.” Netflix was mum about details when it was originally announced, but the dual WGA and SAG strikes have made it even more of a mystery. That said, when it does drop on Netflix, you better believe it’ll be a massive hit for the streaming service.
