Based on word of mouth out of TIFF, A24 may have yet another hit on their hands with Kristoffer Borgli‘s “Dream Scenario“? Don’t believe the hype? Well, leading man Nicolas Cage has a new behind-the-scenes promo for the upcoming satire, explaining why critics are so excited about this one.

And, yes, it has a lot to do with Cage himself. The self-described actor-shaman stars in a highlight role in a career full of them: a professor who becomes an overnight celebrity because he keeps on showing up in other people’s dreams.
Here’s an official synopsis for “Dream Scenario,” courtesy of A24:
Hapless family man Paul Matthews (Nicolas Cage) finds his life turned upside down when millions of strangers suddenly start seeing him in their dreams. But when his nighttime appearances take a nightmarish turn, Paul is forced to navigate his newfound stardom, in this wickedly entertaining comedy from writer-director Kristoffer Borgli (Sick of Myself) and producer Ari Aster.
Alongside Cage, “Dream Scenario” also stars Julianne Nicholson, Michael Cera, Tim Meadows, Dylan Gelula, and Dylan Baker. Other cast includes Kate Berlant, Lily Bird, Amber Midthunder, and Nicholas Braun.
Borgli writes and directs “Dream Scenario,” his sophomore feature. He’s fresh off his feature debut, the horror-tinged satire “Sick Of Myself,” which premiered at Cannes last year and fared well with critics. As noted earlier, “Dream Scenario” had its world premiere at TIFF in September to praise as well. So Borgli may be someone to keep an eye on.
