‘Halo’ Season 2 Trailer: Master Chief Returns To Paramount+ On February 8

Two years ago, “Halo” premiered on Paramount+ as one of the upstart streamer’s tentpole series, with high hopes that the show would soar thanks to the original videogame’s popularity. But “Halo” failed to take off with critics, with many meeting it with a mixed reception. Maybe Season 2 of the series will fare better overall, as Pablo Schreiber‘s Master Chief takes on the Covenant yet again.

The new season of “Halo” sees Master Chief trying to convince humanity that the Covenant plans to strike where people least expect them to. And to defend against the aliens, they’ll need the Halo to survive.

Here’s an official synopsis of “Halo” Season 2, courtesy of Paramount+:

In season two, Master Chief John-117 (Pablo Schreiber) leads his team of elite Spartans against the alien threat known as the Covenant. In the wake of a shocking event on a desolate planet, John cannot shake the feeling that his war is about to change and risks everything to prove what no one else will believe – that the Covenant is preparing to attack humanity’s greatest stronghold. With the galaxy on the brink, John embarks on a journey to find the key to humankind’s salvation, or its extinction: the Halo.

Along with Schreiber, “Halo” also stars Natasha McElhoneJen TaylorBokeem WoodbineShabana AzmiNatasha Culzac, and Olive Gray.  Yerin HaBentley KaluKate KennedyCharlie Murphy, and Danny Sapani also star. New cast members this season include Joseph MorganCristina Rodlo, and Christina Bennington.  Fiona O’Shaugnessy and Tylan Bailey return as series regulars for Season 2.

David Wiener serves as showrunner and executive producer on “Halo.” Other executive producers on the series include Steven SpielbergDarryl Frank, and Justin Falvey for Amblin Television.  Kiki Wolfkill also serves as executive producer for Xbox/343 Industries with Otto Bathurst and Toby Leslie for One Big Picture and Gian Paolo Varani.
