When James Gunn took over as co-CEO of DC Studios, he made it very clear that he would like to bring some of his Marvel Studios actor friends over to the new universe he is crafting. One such person who is seemingly ready, willing, and able to join DC Studios is Chris Pratt. When he’s not voicing animated films, he’s seemingly always attached to some massive franchise. But according to the actor, before he hops over to James Gunn’s DCU, he’ll most likely have one more jaunt as Star-Lord over at Marvel.
Speaking to Comicbook.com, Chris Pratt was asked about the chances that he would show up in James Gunn’s DCU in the future. The actor was very open about his chances of jumping over to a new superhero universe, but Pratt also is equally confident that he will show up at least one more time as Star-Lord for Marvel Studios.
“Well, it probably makes more sense that I would be Star-Lord again,” Pratt said. “But anything is possible, and especially with James over at DC. Maybe there’s something that would be right over there. Maybe both. How about both? Let’s do both. I think it’s 100% both.”

Now, Pratt is no stranger to being a bit silly in an interview, so there’s a possibility that he is joking about showing up in both universes. That said, Gunn is definitely someone who likes to work with the same folks over and over again. Michael Rooker, we’re looking at you. So, it would absolutely make sense that Pratt would appear in the DCU. Does that mean he’s going to be Booster Gold and get his own franchise? Maybe not. Perhaps Pratt will show up in a quick cameo or voicework.
As for the Star-Lord tease, that’s also pretty obvious. The way “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” ended, we got a look at what Star-Lord’s current situation is. He’s back on Earth and trying to deal with human issues for a while. What that means for his status moving forward is anyone’s guess. Before Bob Iger’s recent comments about limiting Marvel Studios to only a couple of TV projects a year, it would have made sense to have a quick Star-Lord series show up. Now, it’s probably more likely we’ll see him appear in one (or both) of the upcoming “Avengers” films. Either way, it would be shocking to have Star-Lord available and not use him.
Pratt will next be seen in “The Garfield Movie,” which arrives on May 24.
