You’re not right for this place. The fine folks over at NEON have recently shared with us a brand new trailer for the upcoming release of the next Osgood Perkins-directed horror flick, “Keeper,” which is heading to theaters later this year.
It boasts a lead cast featuring Canadian actors Tatiana Maslany (“Eastern Promises”) and Rossif Sutherland (“Possessor”) as a couple on a romantic weekend that eventually leads to horrific secrets revealed.
A logline for the new NEON movie:
“Keeper” follows a couple as they escape for a romantic anniversary weekend at a secluded cabin. When Malcolm (Sutherland) suddenly returns to the city, Liz (Maslany) finds herself isolated and in the presence of an unspeakable evil that unveils the cabin’s horrifying secrets.
Perkins has been shooting movies at lightning speed, releasing the Nicolas Cage and Maika Monroe serial killer thriller “Longlegs” last year (considered Perkins’ big breakout alongside “The Blackcoat’s Daughter”), and NEON already distributed another one of his movies back in February with “The Monkey.” Releasing two movies in a single year is something you don’t often see and speaks to the director’s workhorse dedication to completing projects, which is now seen as quite the asset in an industry that is increasingly demanding projects to be shot and released in a shorter window.
Maslany reunites with Perkins after working with the filmmaker on his adaptation of the Stephen King story “The Monkey.” Her previous credits include the acclaimed sci-fi series “Black Orphan” before taking on larger projects like playing Jennifer Walters in Marvel‘s streaming series “She-Hulk,” the Boston bombing drama “Stronger,” performing opposite Jake Gyllenhaal, and appearing in Karyn Kusama‘s L.A. cop thriller “Destroyer,” which starred Nicole Kidman.
You can watch that new teaser trailer for “Keeper” below, as the latest Perkins pic arrives in theaters on November 14.
