Got a Tip?

Christopher Nolan Exits ‘The Prisoner,’ Jon Hamm Joins Zack Snyder’s ‘Sucker Punch,’ First Look: Ryan Reynolds In ‘Buried’

Christopher Nolan has evidently exited the film adaptation of British television show “The Prisoners” that he was tapped to direct back in the summer of 2006. Producer Barry Mendel notes that “Nolan has dropped out of it but we have a first draft by David and Janet Peoples who wrote “Twelve Monkeys” and David wrote “Unforgiven” and it’s a good draft and we’re working on the script right now.” Hmm, could this be due to that certain sequel he might have on the horizon? Man-of-the-moment, “Mad Men” star Jon Hamm has joined the cast of Zack Snyder’s “Sucker Punch.” Why a respected, much-loved actor like Hamm would join this film is beyond us. We’re sure in years to come he’ll regret having a character named High Roller tainting his resume next to Don Draper. Hamm also has Ben Affleck’s “The Town” and Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman’s James Franco starrer “Howl” on his plate. [THR]

Things have been pretty quiet on Edgar Wright’s “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World,” so to give you your fix, here’s another look at Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers. [EdgarWrightHere]

Rosario Dawson has jumped aboard the “Unstoppable” train. Directed by Tony Scott, the film centers on a veteran engineer (Denzel Washington) who jumps into a locomotive with a young conductor (Chris Pine) to stop an unmanned runaway train loaded with toxic cargo. [Variety]

Scream queen Jaime King has joined the cast of Darren Lynn Bousman’s “Mother’s Day” remake. The film will follow three female friends who, while camping, run afoul of two brothers who engage in murder and rape to impress their deranged mother. Shawn Ashmore, Briana Evigan, Alexa Vega and Matt O’Leary are in talks to join also. Yawn. [THR]

Here’s your first look at Ryan Reynolds in his one-man-one-setting thriller “Buried.” We suppose this should come with a spoiler alert? [Aullidos]

“Shoot ‘Em Up” director Michael Davis has been tapped to helm “Outland,” a remake of the 1981 Sean Connery sci-fi film that will be written by Chad St. John. The film revolves around a police marshal stationed at a remote mining colony on Jupiter’s moon IO, where a cop uncovers a murderous conspiracy endangering the entire Outland with collapse.
