Adrien Brody To Star In EPIX Series 'Jerusalem's Lot,' Based On A Stephen King Short Story

Stephen King has yet another project coming to screens. Trying to keep track of every film or TV series in development based on a King book or story is damn-near impossible right now. And adding to the confusion is the new series that EPIX is developing, “Jerusalem’s Lot.”

According to Deadline, EPIX has ordered a 10-episode limited series based on the short story “Jerusalem’s Lot” that will star none other than Adrien Brody in the lead role. Not to be confused with the novel “Salem’s Lot,” the new series is a bit of a prequel, taking place in the 1850s and following a man who brings his kids to the town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine after the death of his wife. As you might expect, things don’t go as planned for the family.

“Jerusalem’s Lot” is set to be written by Jason and Peter Filardi, who will also serve as co-showrunners. The series is a bit of a reunion for Peter Filardi, who wrote the early-‘00s TV adaptation of King’s “Salem’s Lot,” which starred Rob Lowe.

“This series is an intense, absolutely terrifying reimagining of classic gothic horror,” Epix president Michael Wright said. “We can’t wait to work with the exceptional team of Donald De Line and Jason and Peter Filardi, along with our phenomenal lead actor, Adrien Brody…and of course, when it comes to horror, it doesn’t get any better or more masterful than Stephen King.”

There’s no timetable for production on “Jerusalem’s Lot,” but with the sheer amount of King-related content on the big and small screen, there’s no shortage of the author’s content to be found.
