'Ahsoka Tano': Ivanna Sahkno Added To The Cast Of Upcoming 'Star Wars' Series

So far, the Disney+ world has only really known one live-action “Star Wars” project and that is “The Mandalorian.” But Lucasfilm has quite a few new series in the works, including the upcoming “Book of Boba Fett,” which is scheduled to arrive before the end of the year. But as we approach 2022 and beyond, some of the other TV series are beginning to take shape, especially the upcoming “Ahsoka Tano” series, which is a direct spinoff of the aforementioned ‘Mando.’

According to Variety, it appears “Ahsoka Tano,” which is set to star Rosario Dawson in the title role, is adding Ivanna Sahkno to the project in an unspecified role. If the title wasn’t enough of a tease, ‘Ahsoka’ follows Dawson’s character after the events of “The Mandalorian,” where the Jedi will now face new adventures. Previously, we learned Natasha Liu Bordizzo would also star as Sabine Wren in the series

Sahkno might not be a familiar name for many, but she has already appeared in a number of big projects including films such as “Pacific Rim: Uprising,” “The Spy Who Dumped Me,” and “Ivan the Powerful.” She also had a small run on the canceled-before-its-time Hulu series, “High Fidelity.” So, even though “Ahsoka Tano” is her most high-profile project to date, she’s no stranger to large features and TV series.

Unfortunately, we really don’t know what role Sahkno is set to play. The report claims the character she will portray is a new one created for the series. So, for those “Star Wars” nerds trying to speculate, it doesn’t appear like you’ll have much to go on.

Even worse, we still have no idea when “Ahsoka Tano” will debut on Disney+. At this point, a late-2022 release seems the most likely, but perhaps this could even be pushed to 2023, depending on how the other series launches are scheduled.
